THE SWING:
This 18th century oil painting was executed by Jean-Honore Fragonard. THE SWING aka The Happy Accidents of the swing is Fragonard’s best known work and is considered to be one of the masterpieces of the rococo history. The painting conveys to the viewers that a beautiful young woman is enjoying on a swing. The painting also conveys that a young man is admiring her beauty by hiding himself in a bush. As the lady swings high, she throws her right leg up allowing her shoe to be thrown in the air. The painting also contains two statues. One of a putto, who gives sign of silence, the other of pair of putti, who watch from beside the older man, on the right.

Jean-Honore Fragonard was born on 4th April, 1732. He was a French painter. Only 5 paintings are dated though he has produced more than 550 paintings. Fragonard is popularly known for his drawings, paintings, and etching. His paintings include THE SECRET MEETING, THE BIRTH OF VENUS, THE LOVE LETTER, BLIND MAN’S BLUFF etc…
